New University welcomes its next Managing Editor

Following the editor in chief election held on Dec. 2, where Skylar Paxton ‘26 became New University’s next editor in chief, an application for managing editor subsequently opened. Three days were allotted for any New University staff member to apply for the position.

After the application period closed and voting concluded, it was announced to staff on Dec. 9 that New University’s next managing editor would be Trista Lara ‘26. Lara will serve alongside current managing editor Jacob Ramos ‘26.

Lara has been with the publication for over a year, serving as opinion intern, opinion apprentice, opinion co-editor and opinion editor. She has written on a variety of topics within the opinion section.

Lara’s term will conclude at the end of the 2024-2025 academic year.

New University’s newly formed executive team will remain committed to providing the UCI community with accurate, timely and ethical coverage.
