LIAR LIAR: Ricky Gervais and a strong supporting cast carry a strong premise to middling results.

It seems as if almost every year the horror film industry puts out another remake to be pitted against the original. The two most recent remakes have been of the classic slasher film “House on Sorority Row,” and the upcoming remake of the horror film classic “Mother’s Day”. Thus, in light of these two remakes, the questions of how horror films has evolved in the past decades, and whether it is evolving in the right direction circulate the industry.

Put a cat in a bumblebee suit and one person finds it hilarious, while another person thinks it’s animal cruelty. What’s funny? Isn’t having a sense of humor sort of a subjective thing anyway?

Pakistan doesn’t have much cultural currency in the West. When most Americans think of the culture of the Indian subcontinent they think of India. America is missing out on sophisticated and enjoyable works of art. Pakistan’s exportable cultural output is a mixed bag; gems are buried underneath pathetic attempts to copy Indian and/or American artists. Thanks to religious fanaticism and financial issues, Pakistani culture is sliding down the slippery slope to destruction. The country isn’t completely devoid of an art scene, but it is, unfortunately, a very small scene. Can it survive as the country inches further away from stability everyday?
