The UCI Anteaters defeated the UC Davis Aggies with a score of 83-72 on Thursday, Feb. 6, granting them their longest win streak this season with four wins.

The UCI Men’s Basketball team celebrated after a tremendous 91-61 win against the Cal State Fullerton Titans at the Bren Events Center on Feb. 1. The Anteaters improved their record, 14-9, and their Big West record,6-1.

The No. 5 seed UCI Men’s Volleyball team defeated No. 13 seed Concordia University Irvine Eagles by a score of 3-1 (26-24, 25-20, 26-28, 25-23) at the Bren Events Center on Jan. 30.

January 26, 2020 — Just like any other day, people woke up that Sunday and went about their weekly routine. Whether that was catching up on homework, running errands or even just relaxing from a long week of school or work. However, this Sunday felt off from the start. An overcast loomed over Southern California that made it feel different. Maybe not for everyone, as people were too busy being caught up with their own lives. This sort of routine is what makes people forget what it truly means to appreciate something before it is gone forever. Before it vanishes from reality itself.

The UCI Men’s Basketball team celebrated a phenomenal 74-67 win against Cal Poly which improved their overall record to (12-9) and allowed them to remain in first place in the Big West (4-1) on Jan. 25 at the Bren Events Center. The team was hungry for a victory after their previous loss against Long Beach State.

No. 5 seed UCI Men’s Volleyball team was defeated by No. 2 seed Brigham Young University Cougars in a non-conference match with a score of 1-3 (17-25, 25-20, 19-25, 15-25) at the Bren Events Center on Jan. 22.

Though they trailed by 20 points early in the third quarter, the UCI Women’s Basketball team only lost by five points in a 56-51 back-and-forth battle against the Cal State Northridge Matadors at the Bren Events Center on Thursday, Jan. 23.

No. 8 UCI Men’s Volleyball ((2-1), (0-0)) defeated No. 11 Loyola Chicago ((1-3), (0-0)) in their second home game of the season on Friday, Jan. 10 at the Bren Events Center. UCI won with three consecutive sets — two, three and four.

The UCI men’s basketball team began their Big West Conference play against Hawaii at the Bren Events Center on Jan. 11, improving to 9-8 overall and 1-0 in conference as they ran away with a 74-60 victory. The team looked to bounce back after a close loss against Harvard in their previous match-up and looked to pick up right where they left off last season as the best team in the league.

When he’s not grabbing boards or drop stepping on opponents in the paint, UCI Men’s Basketball redshirt junior center Brad Greene is focused on helping fellow Native Americans realize that they can pursue collegiate sports and higher education.

The UCI Women’s Basketball team defeated Loyola Marymount University 80-65 on Nov. 19 at the Bren Events Center after not having played them in three years.
