Shortly after entering the exhibit, an unusual proposition was presented by the Archive of Privatized Experience: volunteer to check in your phone for the duration of your time in the exhibit and get paid.
Even from Ring Road, the sound of laughter and chatter emanating from HG1030 was audible as poetry fans flocked to hear renowned poets E.J. Koh and Carly Joy Miller read.
With the new quarter comes New Forum’s first event of the season: Open Mic. HG 1010 was alight with laughter and delicious smells of food at 6pm as New Forum invited Anteaters to their first reading on October 10th. The immediate draw of the room was the sight of strawberries, cookies, cheese, and crackers, ready to appease starving college students seeking free food and a chance to share their creativity. The delicious snacks, however, were not the best part of New Forum’s open mic.
The second part of the MFA Thesis Exhibitions debuted on May 20, and works from artists Rachel Borenstein, Niloufar Emamifar, Miranda Javid, Joshua Ross and Eva Słapa went up on display.
