State of the UC Event To Discuss Free Speech

ASUCI and the Office of the Chancellor are collaborating to put together the three-part event “State of the UC: The Impacts on Students.”

The first event of the series launches with a discussion of the budget. It will take place this Wednesday, April 7 at 6 p.m. in Doheny Beach A in the Student Center. The forum will focus on the impact the state’s budget has on UC Irvine’s budget. Students will be given the opportunity to have any questions they might have answered.

The second event will be discussing free speech and what it means to the individual. This will be taking place the following Wednesday, April 14 at 6 p.m. in Doheny Beach B, Student Center. To close the three-part series, there will be a panel and Q&A with UCI’s Financial Aid and Scholarship team. This event will take place on Wednesday, April 28 at 6 p.m. in Doheny Beach B, Student Center. Here students have an opportunity to discuss the financial aid process, the UC Blue + Gold Plan and scholarship opportunities amongst other topics regarding financial aid.

iPad Comes To UCI Bookstore

The UCI Bookstore put the iPad on the shelves Saturday afternoon, while Apple Systems Engineer Chris Cummings and Apple Campus Rep Ambrose Yu looked on.

According to Steven Carter, Interim Marketing Manager of the UCI Bookstore, every iPad in the store was sold; 60 more should arrive by Tuesday, April 6, and 600-plus are expected to come from China soon.
