Men’s Cross Country
The Anteaters placed ninth at the Stanford Golf Course with 30 teams competing at the meet. UCI Junior Isaiah Thompson finished 12th overall at the Stanford Invitational on Sunday with his time of 24:08.9 over 8,000 meters. The performances of Sophomore Izzak Mireles finishing 66th place in 25:03.5, Freshman Eric Lawler finishing 90th in 25:19.6, Junior Nolan Del Valle finishing 97th in 25:26.1, Junior David Aguilar finishing 111th place in 25:38.2, Freshman Branden Randall finishing 125th place in 25:46.5, and Junior Jake Williams finishing 239th in 27:23.6, all attributed to the ‘Eaters’ 305 points last Sunday. The ‘Eaters will return to competition on October 17th in the Highlander Invitational at Riverside.
Women’s Cross Country
UCI Women’s Cross Country placed 21st at the Stanford University Invitational last Sunday with 561 points. Senior Courtney Sharar was the Anteaters’ top runner, placing 115th in 25:09.9 over the 6,000 meter distance. Other Anteaters who placed in the top 200 include Freshman Yulissa Mendoza who placed 123rd in 23:14.3, Freshman Lisa Vasquez who placed 129th in 23:18.9, Junior Alice Yang who placed 133rd in 23:23.4, Freshman Megan Mirkhanian who placed 173rd in 23:57.5, Junior Hannah Ruby who placed 187th in 24:17.3 and Junior Aliya Shah who placed 198th in 24:36.0. UCI will compete in the Highlander Invitational at Riverside on October 17.
