(1) After a slow, foggy start to the morning, the sun made an appearance over the Gaza Solidarity Encampment by mid-day on May 2.

(4) Students walked by the “Liberated Zone” throughout the day on Thursday, marking the fourth day since the emergence of the encampment in the Physical Sciences Quad.
(5) Numerous signs surround the encampment signaling the solidarity of other peoples and nations with Palestine.
(6) A sign discussing the arrest of protestors as seen on the encampment border. Protests around the country were met with heavy law enforcement involvement throughout the week, with protestors at Columbia and UCLA being arrested. UCLA’s encampment was flattened and cleared.

Mohammad "Moh" Samhouri attended the University of California, Irvine from 2020 to 2024, working with New University for nearly the entire duration of his studies.
